Amicae
As early as 1940, graduate chapters of Zeta Phi Beta had begun to realize the importance
of the prestige, good will, and cooperation of women who for various reasons were
not members of any Greek-
This led to the Amicae group being created. Amicae is the name given to the organized group of woman interested in Zeta’s ideas and activities. The Amicae, Friends of Zeta serve as an auxiliary to Delta Zeta
Currently there are over 175 Amicae groups in the USA.
Purpose These dear Friends of Zeta are adult women who have a strong appreciation
for the sorority's ideals. They work together to lend assistance to Zeta activities
and to promote good relationships between non-
Membership Invitation to membership is based on the applicant's interest in Zeta
activities, standing as a reputable citizen in the community, and degree of action
in community affairs. Demonstrated hands-
Members cannot be members of other collegiate Greek-
