“Ye shall know them by their fruits”

Since 1934, the Delta Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. has developed and implemented various programs, some through key community partnerships, to improve the human condition among our target populations. As members of the Blue & White family, we understand that service to the community is our greatest and most important legacy. In addition to supporting the education of our young through scholarships and auxiliary groups.

Z-HOPE-: Zetas Helping Other People Excel

What is Z-HOPE?

Launched in 2003 by our International Grand Basileus Barbara C. Moore, Z-HOPE, is a national outreach service initiative designed to enhance, cultivate and empower the African-American community and persons of color to develop health promoting lifestyle choices across the lifespan.

Z-HOPE focuses its efforts within five major populations: women, youth, seniors, men and international women and is designed to address the whole person via a holistic framework that focuses on the three key elements of life:

March of Dimes:
To increase the community’s awareness of and raise money for the March of Dimes, which works to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality.

Baby Z Program

Since 1972, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority has enjoyed a partnership with the March of Dimes in an effort to encourage women to seek prenatal care within the first trimester of pregnancy in to decrease birth defects and infant mortality.

We proudly honored the more than 30-year national partnership between our Sorority and the March of Dimes by creatively raising over $1100.00 in 2003 and educating the community about prematurity through our innovative Baby Z Program. Through the Baby Z program we help the March of Dimes with it's main mission: to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects and infant mortality. Moreover, we regularly participate in the annual March of Dimes Walk-a-Thon.

Bowling for Babies

One of our most recently added signature programs, Bowling for Babies, is a program that allows all members of the community to enjoy a fun game of bowling, while still raising funds for the March of Dimes. It is an appropriate activity for all individuals of all ages!

Prematurity Awareness Month

Prematurity Awareness: To increase community awareness of the March of Dimes by sharing information with local churches.

Rites of Passage:

Since 1934, the Delta Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. has developed and implemented various programs to improve the human condition among our target populations.  As members of the Blue & White family, we understand that service to the community is our greatest and most important legacy.  In keeping with this legacy, we are sponsoring a “Rites of Passage Pageant” for middle school young ladies.

We would like to afford middle school ladies an opportunity to participate in an event that will help cultivate them as a whole person as they begin to enter “womanhood”.  As part of our pageant itinerary, we will sponsor activities that will support the young ladies’ cultural, social, leadership and educational growth.  These activities will include:  beauty seminars, girl talk meetings, preparing for high school and college seminars, and community service.

The pageant is designed to give each girl an opportunity to learn and have fun.  We will not determine a single winner.  However, we will present awards to five (5) young ladies who excelled in the following areas:  Oratorical, Congeniality, Modeling, Talent, and Director’s Choice.

Wachovia-Wells Fargo Financial Literacy Workshops

Zetas of Charlotte has partnered with Wachovia/ Wells Fargo to provide a quarterly Financial Seminar series designed to educate the local Beatties Ford Rd. community about financial issues and the steps to ensure financial independence as well as to increase the Delta Zeta presence within the community.

Community Health Fair
